4th Grade Books I Liked When I Was in Fourth Grade July 18, 2012

The Bell Bandit from the series The Lemonade War and The Lemonade Crime by Jacqueline Davies

This is the most recent book that has come out in this series. This was an easy book for me because I did read this in the end of fourth grade. I am an advanced reader so this may be just right for some other kids. This could be also be an easy read like I did.  You could also read this in the beginning of fourth grade for future fourth graders.

The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

The Hunger Games is a book that many people say is inappropriate for young people, but let someone who is a young fourth grader tell you. Let me tell you this if you can separate the difference from real and from imaginary your okay. If you will have nightmares from a scary movie then you are in trouble. It might be okay if you talk about to your adult but it might be hard for you to get the sad image out of your head. I am a fourth grader going into fifth grade and read the whole series and my friends did to and it was perfectly okay for all of us. I also watched the movie I read the book okay. There was a younger girl my friend how was only in third grade and I felt uncomfortable for her to see the movie also having her not reading the book. So I would recommend this book to fourth graders no younger than that but maybe better if you were older but fourth grade is okay too. Read the book first then watch the movie. Like always the book better but he movie was really good. You have to read the books in order because they will not make any sence if you read them out-of-order.

4th Grade Chapter Books by a Picky 4th Grade Reader December 11, 2011

These are some of my favorite chapter books that I finished reading in fourth grade.

Ruby Holler by Sharon Creech

This is one of my favorite chapter books. This book makes you want to never put it down. My older sister AND my mom recommended it to me but at first I didn’t want to read it. By the third chapter, I really liked it once they got to Ruby Holler.

Turtle in Paradise by Jennifer L. Holm

I really enjoyed this book because it was about this girl who got separated from her mom and you’ll have to find out more when you read it. If you liked Because of Winn Dixie, you will like this book.

Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor

This book is about a dog’s life and he has many adventures with his owners. It’s a book that everyone would like. We read this for Fourth Grade as a class. It’s also a series.

4th Grade Books Recommended by a Fourth Grader September 4, 2011

I was assigned a summer reading project for going into 4th grade and I had to read five books and write about them. These were the books I chose. My favorite book out of all of them is Mr. Popper’s Penguins and I recommend them for kids in fourth grade but also third grade and fifth grade might like them too.

Frindle by Andrew Clements

I liked this book because it was about a boy that was really young and he got famous because he just made up this word, “frindle,” instead of pen.

The Tail of Emily Windsnap series by Liz Kessler

I liked this book because it was about a girl who didn’t even know she was a mermaid but found out during her first swimming lesson.

How To Eat Fried Worms by Thomas Rockwell

This book started off as a bet and a boy named Billy had to eat fifteen worms in fifteen days and a boy named Alan had to give him $50 (which was a lot during the olden days) if he succeeded but Alan thought Billy couldn’t do it but found out that he could so Alan had to trick Billy into not eating them.
